Hilltop Orchids' Pink Orchid Fertilizer (13-3-15-8)

Hilltop Orchids Special Pink Orchid fertilizer was researched and developed at Michigan State University. It is the only fertilizer used at Hilltop Orchids since we were first asked to trial this product by MSU 6 years ago. This fertilizer provides the ideal balance of Nitrogen, Phosphate, Pot Ash, Calcium, & Magnesium to promote healthy growth and blooming. Its nitrogen source is from nitrates, not urea. The nitrates become easily available to the plants in sterile potting soil and do not require a specific temperature for this process to occur. This is a vital point as most cultivated orchids are potted in sterile potting soil, and all the other urea based fertilizer requires greater than a 72º temperature and bacteria in the soil to become readily available to the plants.

Additionally, our pink orchid fertilizer is very low in phosphorus which is a direct result of the Michigan State research. Their research showed that orchid plants have been getting much more phosphorus than is needed in most of the shelf bedding plant fertilizers. This fertilizer also contains Calcium and Magnesium that helps promote vibrant colors and vigor in the bloom spikes, as well as good strong root growth. You will not find these two key ingredients in most other fertilizers. As we said, this fertilizer is the only fertilizer used in our greenhouses, and it has given us fantastic results.
