PLANT SIZE DEFINITION
Blooming Size: These are plants that have reached blooming maturity and are capable of flowering immediately or within 6 months
Spiked Plant: A spiked plant is a Blooming Size plant that has an active infloresence growth but the spike has not put on buds yet.
Budding Plant: These plants are Spike plants that have put on buds and are ready to bloom within 1 - 3 weeks.
Flowering Plant: These plants are plants that have at least one flower open on them.
Near Blooming Size Plant: These plants are almost ready to begin their first blooming cycle. These plants will require 9-12 months of further growth to flower.
Seedlings: Young plants that will require at least 24 months or more to reach their first blooming cycle.
CONDITION OF SALES GENERAL TERMS
All offerings are subject to availability and prices are subject to change without notice. Please list complete address information as requested. Your order cannot be shipped if this information is not complete. Payment must be made prior to shipment and may be made by, Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover. Cash on Delivery(C.O.D.) orders are not available. Orders are filled in the sequence in which they are received. Occasionally shipments may be delayed due to poor weather conditions. All offerings are subject to prior sale. We reserve the right to withdrawal any offering from sale and to limit quantities. We warrant our plants to be true to identity purchased, except where authorized by the customer to substitue with plants of similiar type and color. We make no warranty on any plants sold. Our responsibility shall be limited to the purchase price, in any case. The customer owns the plant once shipped and is responsible for damage to the plan tduring shipping.
SUBSTITUTIONS
Unless the customer specifies otherwise, we reserve the right to substitute a plant of similar type, size, and color if we are sold out of your first choice. Please advise us during the oder process if you do not want substitutions, and please list alternate selections.
SHIPPING
All plants are sent in pots, unless specified otherwise by customer. This will help ensure better adjustment to different growing environments. Although we do our best to pack carefully, we are not responsible for damage to buds or flowers in shipment. Shipping is recommended to be done Monday through Wednesday via United States Postal Service using 2d Day Air unless otherwise requested. In such cases, the customer assumes all liability/additional charges for shipping via means other than recommended by Hilltop Orchids. Please make note of alternative shipping options on your order form. All shipments are cushion packed and sealed to aid in protection from heat and cold. Most orders will be shipped within (1) week of receipt depending on weather.
DAMAGED SHIPMENTS
We have had very few problems with damaged shipments, and always select the best plants available for your order. We pack our orders with great care, and guarantee that plants leave our nursery in good condition. Should a shipment arrive with a leaf, root or flower spike crushed or broken, cut off the damaged area with a sterilized knife. If a pot is broken, remove the old pot and slip the plant into a pot of similar size. This should not harm the plant. Should a shipment arrive in a badly damaged or frozen condition or if your order is delayed beyond the maximum transit time you specified, call us immediately and we will direct you how to file a claim with the Carrier. Always save boxes and packing materials for inspection by the Carrier agent, and notify us of any actions taken. Although we make every attempt to package flowers and buds carefully,due to the fragile nature of living plant material and potentially hostile transit conditions, safe arrival cannot be guaranteed.

FOR REGULATORY REASONS, WE DO NOT SHIP OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES.
SHIPPING AND PACKING CHARGES
Packing and shipping charges are calculated from the sub-total of the order at the rate of 5% for packing and direct cost for shipping option chosen, with a minimum of $10 packing fee.
PHYTOSANITARY CERTIFICATE
Shipments to California and Hawaii require a phytosanitary certificate to be sent with each shipment. We will obtain the certificate for the shipments. The cost is US$36.00. Please note there will be approximately two - three weeks delay in shipping, due to processing. Hawaii residents must also include a copy of import permit, or indicate this number on order form. Other US territories including Guam, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands will need the certificate for shipments as well.
DISCOUNTS
All discounts are applied to the SUB-TOTAL of the MERCHANDISE purchased, and NOT towards shipping, handling, or any other charges applied. DISCOUNTS ARE APPLIED TO ONLINE ORDERS FROM OUR REGISTERED ENTHUSIAST OR HOBBYIST MEMBERS ONLY! Because of greater processing costs, discounts are not applied to orders taken by phone. Discounts are NOT redeemable at the Greenhouse, any show/sale, or with any other offering other than this on-line catalog. Discounts do not apply to purchase of awarded plants, their clones or divisions. Discount rates are as follows 5% - $200.00 to $350.00, 10% - $351.00 to $800.00 15% - $801.00 and up
PRIVACY POLICY
Your business is important to us. We do not maintain local records of your financial infomation after the transaction. We do not sell your personal information to mailing lists.
